    A snapshot in time

    A docile ox

Cattle, especially oxen, played a major role in the lives of people a century ago, even more so than today.

I found this old postcard in my friend’s collection and was amazed at how docile the ox must have been for this child to sit safely on its back. The photograph succinctly captures the close relationship between human and animal that is still evident to us so many years later.
