In Padlangs - directly translated from the Afrikaans as ‘On the road’ or ‘Along the road’, we share stories about the people we meet along the way and discover the intriguing history, geology and flora and fauna of Namibia, which make it such an extraordinary place.
Just like the journey of life, all road journeys are about who you meet and what you discover along the way. When you pause to become acquainted with the land and its creatures, to meet ordinary people and listen to their extraordinary stories, the journey becomes so much more than just a route from one point to the next. It becomes a journey of wonder, where every new section or bend in the road reveals hidden treasure and untold magic.
In a collaboration of creative minds, the Padlangs stories are unearthed by avid story-seeker, -collector and -researcher Manni Goldbeck and put to paper by storyteller and freelance writer Ron Swilling. They convey interesting tales and nuggets of information that make fascinating reading while on your travels through the country or while dreaming about it from your favourite armchair or patch of grass at home.
