    By Ron Swilling

Just before Divundu in Kake village, Joe, Tiki, Joseph and Division were playing ‘wera’ on the roadside. Also known as ‘owela’, it is one of Africa’s most popular games. ‘Boards’ can easily be dug in the sand and marula and mangetti nuts or round stones can be used as the ‘men’, making it a game that can be played anywhere anytime.
