The ingenious and innovative ways people find to give second-hand items a new lease on life always inspires me.
When I was in the Cape recently, I came across this rusting DeSoto that had an old number plate repurposed to serve as a sun visor. The CAO (Carnavon, Karoo) number plate was just the right size to work perfectly to shield the driver from the sun’s glare.
DeSoto was an American automobile brand, made by Chrysler, between 1928 and 1961. It was named after the 16th century Spanish explorer, Hernando de Soto, who led one of the first European expeditions into the United States.
