    The ‘Better-Hope’ barber shop

    By Ron Swilling
    November 12, 2024

The ‘Better-Hope’ barber shop in Ondangwa elicits hope, as well as respect and admiration for owner Peter Heita.

Peter has been a paraplegic since he fell from a tree when he was five years old. He is not letting that get him down. He started his own business in 2016 and opened this small barber shop, using a specialised chair to raise and lower himself to his customer’s height. He now has a large clientele, seeing up to twenty customers a day. Friendly Peter is a hard worker and lives by the maxim ‘If you sleep, you can’t get the bread’.
