    Joyful vegetable farmer

    By Ron Swilling
    January 30, 2025

Christine Ilunga sells vegetables on the roadside on the way to Ngoma in Namibia’s northeastern corner. Christine is a veg farmer, growing tomatoes, onions and green peppers as a livelihood to support her children and grandchildren. In 2014 she won first prize at the farmers’ market at Lusese for her oxheart tomatoes. Her wide smile and lively character add a touch of joy to the sale.
