    Namibian craftsmanship

    I came across this well-made granary basket (eshisha) and its maker, Tate Tomas Titus, south of Outapi.

    Made with mopane branches and twine and sealed with clay, the large granary baskets provide excellent vessels to store mahangu for the household. It took Tomas one month of hard work to make the basket and he was selling it for N$1500.
